Tour de Yorkshire - Information for Residents
The Tour de Yorkshire passes through Escrick on 2nd May.
It is expected to pass through the village between 5pm - 5.30pm, but may be up to 30 minutes earlier/later depending upon the pace on the day.
The route runs from Wheldrake Lane, up Skipwith Road, along Carr Lane, along the A19, and then Stillingfleet Road.
Local celebrations
Escrick Heritage will be serving refreshments on the Village Green from 2:30 p.m. They will also have a preview of some of the photos already in the community archive, so please do pop across. It will be a great afternoon, and don't forget your folding chairs!
We hope BBC Radio York will also be based on the Village Green throughout the afternoon.
Thanks to members of the Yorkshire Countrywomen there will be lots of bunting along Carr Lane and a huge banner on the Village Green (the TV crew covering the race have been notified so that their helicopter can get aerial coverage of the green).
Road closures, parking restrictions and bus routes
The roads along the route are expected to have parking restrictions all day, and will be closed to all traffic whilst the race passes through the village. Due to the nature of the route, no diversionary routes are possible and traffic will be held.
