Free parking across the Selby District in the run up to Christmas
To support the district’s businesses in the build up to Christmas, Selby District Council will be offering free parking across all council owned car parks in Selby, to complement existing free parking in Tadcaster and Sherburn-in-Elmet.
Free parking will take place across the district on Saturday 17 December and Christmas Eve. So when it comes to making your weekend shopping plans why not consider shopping locally and help support local businesses this Christmas?
The Council wants to make the Selby district a great place to do business, encouraging more residents to shop locally and to bring more visitors to the district.
Cllr Mark Crane, Leader of the Council said, “It’s really important that we support our local businesses during the busiest time of the year. The Council has offered free parking as a way to encourage more residents to consider to shop locally and to also encourage visitors to the district. When making your Christmas shopping plans please consider shopping locally and help support your local businesses.”
Free parking arrangements only cover Council owned car parks and doesn’t include privately managed sites. We’ve got a full list of our car parks on the Selby District Council website.
