Public Right of Way - update 26th Feb

North Yorkshire County Councils Planning and Regulatory sub-committee will meet on 7th March at county hall at 10am.

It will consider the application for a Right of Way through from Main Street past Queen Margaret's and to the Temple and back.

A report will be presented, comments from the public for and against made and then a decision made by councillors as whether to make an alteration to the definitive map.

A report will be available approx one week prior to the meeting date.

If anyone wishes to speak at the meeting please contact Stephen Loach on 01609 532216 day 3 working days before.

If the application is rejected, the applicant has 28 days to appeal. If an order is made, there will be a six weeks consultation period when people can submit objections or representations in favour. All must be supported by evidence.

If any outstanding objections cannot be resolved then the matter is referred to the Sec of State. He will appoint an Inspector who will examine all the evidence and may call a public enquiry and will then make a decision on whether or not the Order shall be confirmed. Only then, will the Definitive Map be altered.
